Money Heist Part 1 Episode 2 Summary
Raquel, who manages the negotiations for the release of the hostages, establishes a contact with the Professor. One of the hostages is a key part of the burglars’ plan.
Raquel Murillo, a police inspector and divorced, celebrates the birthday of his daughter Paula. Unfortunately for her, her superior sent her on the case of the robbery at the Royal Mint.
In the Factory, the spirits are heated with Tokyo, which shot the police, and the rest of the group. The Professor explains that she endangered the plan because of her love affair with Rio. Shortly after a discussion on women with Berlin, Rio is responsible for keeping Alison Parker safe, apart from the rest of the group. As foreseen in the plan, all the hostages must put on a red suit and each recovers a dummy weapon. Employees of the Factory must also get to work and print as many fifty-euro bills as possible.
On the police side, Raquel and his assistant Ángel Rubio order to monitor the telephone network of the Factory. But Colonel Prieto, Spanish intelligence, does not intend to let Raquel control everything. The police engaged in an initial discussion with the Professor, and the latter advised him not to intervene. Raquel is waiting for the robbers to release the students. We learn that one of the hostages, Alison Parker, is the daughter of the ambassador of the United Kingdom. It is, therefore, a priority for Colonel Prieto, who decides to enter the Factory in force, as the Professor had predicted. So, after having introduced a camera to the scene, the police realize that the robbers are masked and armed with a machine gun: they are therefore forced to back up. Finally, Alison calls a radio program and, under the orders of the robbers, announces to all of Spain that the daughter of the Ambassador is taken, hostage.
We also learn that Tokyo and Rio had several very intimate relationships in the months before the robbery.
